Me & My 'Syok Sendiri' Creations

Yup, I do have gift creations yang boleh dikategorikan sebagai 'syok sendiri'. Those are usually the ones which I get inspiration by looking at the simplest like Zuleyka's bloomers when I put on her clothes or her colourful hankie when I wipe chocolate off her face. These gift baskets may not be like the ones you see in other local gift shops or websites so it may take a longer time for people to open up to the idea of it...

But I DO love my 'syok sendiri' creations. He hee..syok sendiri je..

Example, a gift basket that I came up with oh I don't remember...maybe early this year? I've always loved handmade stuff by WAHMs, especially. They come up with really good stuff, most importantly, PRACTICAL stuff. Which kid doesn't need a few pieces of cloth wipes? Or *at least* one sunhat? How about shorts (tak kira la baby lelaki ke perempuan ke mesti kena ada pakai seluar jugak kan he hee)? Small pillow...? And when baby is on the go, a lil wetbag (a small bag with waterproof lining) that can store those wet & used hankies is pretty useful, don't you think?

So here's one of my 'syok sendiri' creations. Her Rainbow. Dah lebih enam bulan 'di pasaran' in my online shop and I only got the first order for this 2 days ago!! Thanks, Zuraini, for believing in my syok sendiri creations *but very practical, I'd like to think*. And I even used a pretty handmade card for this (only a few pieces left with me, so, while stocks last!)

One other creation that I absolutely love but not very hot in the pasaran is Baby's Day Out. Again, I was thinking of practicality and of course, of what I like :). I found out babywearing only when I gave birth to Armand. This 3rd kiddo of mine is so-very-d-cranky and he just wails and wails especially if I'm not within sight and not in physical contact with him. So babywearing saved my sanity (masa takde maid, I back-carried him when doing dishes!) and I just wanted to share with everyone, moms and dads out there, of the many types of stylish babywearing options available now. And I wanted them to know that babywearing is not merely "gendong bayi" but it's totally IN :)

So far I have sold only one of this. Nope I'm not ashamed to say that some of AZ Gift Baskets' gifts are not that fast-moving...but it's important that I love the outcome and believe that it is or will indeed be a useful gift for some people. Especially for those who try to find unique gifts which are not that commonly found in the market...

Like Shamm's Scrapbook - I got this idea when I met up with my ITM roomie again, through Facebook. Scrapbooking is her hobby and one of the things she does to de-stress! Dina Cooks Dinner pulak, an idea that came when I met up with another long-lost ITM-mate. Apparently she loves to cook and the kitchen section is the first place she goes to if we step into a department store. And there's Baking With Ida..a gift inspired by some baking baskets on overseas gift sites..and also by a fellow WAHM who makes the most delicious muffins for AZ Gift Baskets :)

And yes I named them after all those ladies who gave me the inspiration for those gift basket creations...

So, pesanan penaja to everyone out there..if you wanna try a new cookie recipe, or include a what-about-this-ingredient for a cupcake, or try a type fabric not normally used for kids' clothes...just try it out and see how it goes. If you are trying to sell these, don't be afraid if it doesn't fly off the shelf instantly...at least you TRIED..and that alone is something that you should be proud of :)

Note:

This is maybe more of a "pat on the back" entry. I've been without a live-in maid since school holidays started (mutual, I didn't want her anymore and she couldn't go on working as she's worried about her kids under the care of her so-called unstable spouse) so the juggling act is a bit more intense. Alhamdulillah my hubby is on long leave so he helps with the kids and chores whenever he can. Kalau tak memang pengsan lama dah I :P
