Breakfast
Actually, I rarely make nasi goreng / mee goreng / jemput-jemput etc for breakfast. Bukan nak kata so-the-health-freak sangat...tapi rasanya buat omelette, french toast dan seangkatan dengannya adalah lebih ringkas, mudah & tetap sedap.

Lunch
I realized I don't have many photos of lunch. If I have time in the mornings then I'll cook lunch & dinner but usually mornings are hectic (errr...and why am I in front of my computer blogging at 9.40am...??) so I normally make simple nasi goreng for the kids' lunch.
Tapi semalam ada leftover kuah spaghetti bolognese, so I just added some sausages, chopped onions into the sauce (to make it less runny) and made cornish pasties and red cabbage slaw.

Rupa-rupanya tak pun.
For the pastry, just rub flour + salt + butter and add water bit by bit until it forms a pastry dough.
Cling-wrap it then leave in fridge for about 20 minutes.
Lepas tu gelek guna rolling pin, guna piring kecik untuk ukur/potong bentuk bulat.
Isi dengan inti, sapu telur kat tepi-tepi tu & close it up. Seal.
Brush the remaining beaten egg on the surface of the pasty and put it in a pre-heated oven at 180C for about 40 minutes.
Coleslaw tu guna la kobis, carrots, mayo, mustard, salt & pepper.
I only had red cabbage yesterday. (betul ke nama nya Red Cabbage ni)

Dinner
Dah lama tak buat beef patty. Daripada beli burger bakar yang harga at least RM8 satu tu, yang Amsyar The Foodie suka & asik mintak belikan tu, baik lah buat burger sendiri kan.
Campur-campurkan je mince beef, chopped onions, breadcrumbs, telur satu, salt & pepper, chicken stock granules sikit. Bentuk-bentukkan & leave in the fridge for at least 2 hours for it to set.
Alang-alang dah buat roti sendiri sekarang...apa kes pulak nak pegi beli burger buns kat Giant kan? I love Mr. Google & Ms YouTube so much for this (and everything else). Burger buns ni I guna recipe Light Brioche Burger Buns. The trick to make it stay soft is to cover the buns with a tea towel right after it comes out from the oven.
My eldest son who just turned 12 is such a foodie. I've said this before and I'm saying it again. Dia ni memang pemakan, tapi badan kurus. Reminds me of a smaller & younger Millie keh3. Makan makan makan tapi tak gemuk-gemuk.
Tapi itu dulu lah.

Amsyar likes nasi & lauk, but he also loves western dishes. Rasanya ni sebab Mama dia tak suka makan nasi sangat masa mengandungkan dia. I remember craving pizza so bad just before going for my 7th month pre-natal check-up...that I bought pizza and ate it in the car while driving to the hospital. Tak cun langsung.
Anway, hari tu Amsyar ternampak sandwich dalam buku resipi "bread recipes" (where did he dig all these?). He saw this:

Happy cooking for your family! Remember, you need not labour yourself in the kitchen or cook up a storm to feed your family....simple meals can still fill them up, yang penting sedap & berkhasiat!

This is one of the reasons I want to be a SAHM/ WAHM. The privilege of cooking and feeding your family the way you want. Hehe. Hebat la kak millie, macam2 masakan! Bab roti tu memang I respek. Everytime I buat roti mesti jadi batu. Hahaha

Tapi bukan memasak setiap hari tau hehe..rekod paling kerap memasak ialah 5 kali seminggu. Itu rekod, tapi of course bukan tiap2 minggu macam tu keh3

My white bread & wholemeal bread pun ada masa2 dia. Most of the time okay tapi ada masa2nya yang roti tu jadi dense semacam..
Time paling best buat roti ialah masa hari panas...
